Rupari Foods

Rupari Foods, headquartered in Deerfield Beach, Florida, makes and distributes pre-cooked and sauced pork ribs and related barbecue products to food retailers and foodservice operators.  Rupari’s products can be found in the refrigerated meat case and freezer under the Tony Roma’s brand and in the hot and cold sections of the deli under the Butcher’s Prime brand.

Wind Point acquired Rupari in July 2011.  Wind Point’s value creation plan for Rupari includes driving growth of the popular Tony Roma’s refrigerated and frozen products and capturing the ready-to-eat market opportunity with Butcher’s Prime deli ribs.  In addition, Wind Point plans to improve manufacturing efficiency and implement capacity improvements to support Rupari’s transformation into a premier branded food company.

Wind Point acquired Rupari in partnership with Executive Advisor Partners Bob Kopriva and John Rice, who serve as co-chairmen.  Bob previously served as CEO of Sara Lee Foods, a $5 billion public company, and John most recently served as President of the Americas at Unilever, a $15 billion consumer products company.  Rupari’s CEO is Robert Mintz, who has been CEO since 1993.
